Why You Need A Reverse Osmosis System?

Everybody wants to give a healthy life to their family and self, but is it possible. Our drinking water comes from a tab or another source must be contaminated with the toxin, led, arsenic. Water is a very essential part of your life. In a healthy human body contains up to 60% of water. How do you know about your drinking water is safe for you or not?

Reverse osmosis is the best solution for treating water which extracts harmful contamination particles, lead, harmful bacteria, insecticides & many more and give you soft, fresh water with fully mineral, iron, and manganese.

At your home, you have an RO (Reverse Osmosis) Water filter, if not then you are thinking about to buy Ro water. But there is numerous variety of water filter are available in the market. These come in RO, UV, TDS Controller, Mineralizer and UF form.

Filters of UF  (Ultrafiltration) come at a very low cost because they do not need any electricity.  In UF chamber it consists of a large number of hollow white fibers (Polymer) are called semi-permeable membrane. Its pore size has 0.1-0.01 micrometer. Which allow only water but does not allows impurities like silt, toxins, and other bacteria.  But some of small in size bacteria and other toxins are passed through it. It does not remove salt or minerals from impure water and does not make soft water from hard water. Some time carbon blocks or activated carbons are used which are rich in porous, high absorption capacity and huge surface. When water passed through it then water impurities can be trapped inside the activated carbon, like chlorine and odor.

UV: Ultraviolet rays are not visible and also dangerous for us. This UV light is used to kill those bacteria which keeps remains in the process of RO or UF. In this process, the water passed through a stainless steel chamber and light passed through it with UV lamps, which kills those bacteria which are present in water. It kills 99% of germs but doesn't make hard water in soft.  It is used generally in the last stage of purification.

There are three main factors when you are going to water treatment to get soft, healthy and drinkable water. Desalination, Osmosis and Reverse Osmosis.

Desalination is the process of removing salt from water.

Osmosis:

When two compartments containing solutions of different concentration are undergone separation process by a semipermeable membrane, then solvent moves from lower concentration to higher concentration side.

When the lower concentration of impure water is passed through semipermeable membrane then this membrane allows only pure water but doesn't allow impurities of the water. There is a difference found in concentration between pure and impure water. Due to which low concentration water comes to another side for balancing of concentration difference.

Reverse Osmosis:

On the other side of reverse osmosis, external pressure-applying on impure water and it passed through a semipermeable membrane and goes to another side. Impurities of water are left inside of the membrane and we get clean water on the other side.  This membrane pore size is approx 0.0001 microns. Its have the capability to remove up to 90% of dissolved solids such as salt, lead, arsenic, and even minerals like calcium, magnesium also.  Due to which its make your water in soft for drinkable.

How it works:

Seawater or brackish water are found in higher concentration. This water under the osmosis process is passed through a semi-permeable membrane. This membrane is made with cellulose acetate, polymethacrylate, polyamides. Why it is called semi-permeable membrane because it allows only water and solvent but does not allows ions or all the minerals, colloidal metals present in the water. When we apply pressure which is greater than osmotic pressure then brackish water moves towards pure water compartment. After completing of the reverse osmosis process we get RO water with low concentration.

Is it safe?

Everybody asks this question that Reverse Osmosis is safe for us or not. we can say of course yes? Water is treated under reverse osmosis is always drinkable. You must sure about your drinking water it should be undergone with reverse osmosis, by doing this you got safe water with you every time, every moment even you are going to any occasion or trip. You can easily install a reverse osmosis system or reverse osmosis filter at your home, office.

Advantages:

This reverse osmosis process is simple, cheap and reliable. During reverse osmosis process it's not removing ionic salt from water but also remove its nonionic substance, lead, impurities, and hidden harmful bacteria.

It gives you healthy drinking water in the form of purity, full of minerals, and softness. Its installation is higher in cost but its maintenance cost is very low. The membrane should need to change, it takes just within 3-4 minutes.

Disadvantage:

The membrane cost is very high and it needs to withstand water pressure of 20-100 atm.

RO makes TDS down up to 90%, If its remove impurities up to 90% then your minerals are also diminished up to 90% because TDS are not only made with dissolved solids (Sodium, bicarbonate, chlorides, sulfates, Arsenic, Leads, copper, chlorine, cation, anions, iron, zinc, etc.) but also made with minerals (calcium, magnesium, sodium, potassium,  and phosphorus, etc..)

Normally packaged drinking water TDS come along with 50 ppm. This means your water is pure but with fewer minerals. But there is also some water bottle like Himalayan, Evian keeps their water TDS up to  300. This means water is not pure but it means water is plenty of minerals, pure, safe, and healthy which your body needs actually.

The water belongs to less than 50 TDS is safe for your body and easily relief your thirst but continuously used of this water brings a shortage of minerals in your body. Which may lead your bone weakness, tiredness, lower immunity, and joint problems.

So we consider to you drink only those kinds of water that should have TDS between 100-300, it may be safe and healthy to drink.

For kidney patient drink water whose TDS should be 50-100.

For healthy water which is drinkable comes under TDS category between 300-500 but not perfect for a drink or it should not healthy for you which TDS have 500+. It may affect your health.

To protect your minerals you can use only filters without RO by which keeps your minerals remains in clean water. Zero TDS water should be pure is called distilled water but it's not included with minerals or it is odourless, so never drink this kind of water whose TDS is "0". Water should be pure as well as mineralized.

When RO use or not use?

If your home water tds is below then 300 then you have not to need to use RO system. Simply UV or UF water filter is enough for you but if your water TDS comes above 500-1000 and your water must be influenced with harmful insects, bacteria, lead, arsenic then we recommend you must be used RO.

Reverse Osmosis is the process of filtering water. There is no real way for RO process that is should filter only harmful ingredients and left minerals for you. Unfortunately removing of all the minerals and vitamins, from water is a good option for you for a short time but continued to use this minerals and vitamins free water is not suitable for your health.
